President
Jeff French
Jeff French, the dedicated leader and heart of Merrimac Log Homes, began his journey with the company as a young city boy at the tender age of 15. From working night shifts in his uncle's mill, stacking oak boards on the green chain, to eventually steering the helm of the company, Jeff's path is deeply intertwined with the rich tradition of log home building.

Over the years, his responsibilities and understanding of the industry grew in tandem. His innate talent and dedication helped him rise through the ranks, culminating in his appointment as Vice President. After a successful venture into the construction of luxury log homes in the picturesque White Mountains, Jeff felt the call to return to Merrimac, the place where it all began.
One of Jeff's remarkable qualities is his ability to nurture talent. He has mentored many aspiring woodworkers, transforming them into seasoned log home builders. His deep understanding of the industry's intricacies equips him to guide any builder, seasoned or beginner, in crafting their dream log home.
Jeff's meticulousness, honed during his early days in the sawmill, is evident in the precision with which he operates the mill today. This attention to detail is key in crafting custom log home packages, ensuring each Merrimac home carries a stamp of personalization and excellence.
When he's not immersed in the world of log homes, Jeff enjoys tending to his lawn - the best in town - and playing golf. He and his wife, Amanda, have built and live in their modern, contemporary log home, the second one they've crafted together. Their home symbolizes the perfect blend of comfort and natural aesthetics intrinsic to every Merrimac log home.
Jeff is not only a dedicated business leader but also a father to two beautiful daughters. His role as a father further deepens his understanding of the importance of a home as a safe, warm, and welcoming space for families.
As the embodiment of 'The Merrimac Way,' Jeff commits to creating quality, personalized log homes and ensuring customer satisfaction. He takes pride in making dreams come true, one log at a time, while carrying Merrimac Log Homes into the future, always honoring its cherished roots.
Vice President
Amanda French
Meet Amanda French, the dynamic Vice President of Merrimac Log Homes. Amanda is the dedicated wife of Jeff and the first voice you're likely to hear when you call our office. Her deep-seated knowledge of the log home industry stems from her active involvement in every facet of the business, a journey marked by hard work, tenacity, and unwavering commitment.
Amanda's initiation into the log home business was anything but ordinary. From working alongside the rugged men of Jeff's construction team to shoveling the hole for the septic system of their first log home, Amanda has walked the path of hard labor and hands-on experience. This breadth of experience has equipped her with an unparalleled understanding of the industry and an appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into each Merrimac log home.
Balancing her professional responsibilities with her role as a mother and wife, Amanda has been instrumental in nurturing both the growth of the business and ensuring that our customers always receive the best prices and customer service. Her unique position in an industry predominantly populated by seasoned men has allowed her to bring a distinct perspective to Merrimac, resulting in a customer-centric approach that sets us apart.
Amanda and Jeff escape to Florida for a month each winter, but their hearts belong to the seaside haven of Ogunquit, Maine - Amanda's "happy place". At home, she maintains a picturesque garden and fish pond, demonstrating her love for nature and the outdoors.
In her spare time, Amanda is an avid speed reader, devouring fictional novels at a stunning pace. Her culinary skills are legendary, known for cooking "for an army", delighting family and friends with her homemade dishes.
When the family business beckoned, Amanda answered the call with unparalleled drive and passion. Her practical experience on the job sites of Jeff's custom home builds has given her valuable insights that she readily shares with our clients, further cementing her key role within Merrimac.
Today, Amanda stands as a testament to Merrimac's commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and the family spirit that has guided our company for decades. Her passion for the business is infectious, her dedication inspiring, and her contribution invaluable.
